What A Weekend

I had Ryen for the weekend and we barely sat down the whole time. Just the way I like it. Friday night we had a play date with our favorite boys the Cichellis' and I got to catch up with their mom Aubrey. Jack and Ryen have been friends for so long and no matter how much time goes by when they see each other it's like they haven't missed a bit. So adorable

I had to post one of Jacks little brother Tyler. This little guy has always melted my heart!
We had a great evening and Ryen loves those boys.

Saturday morning Ryen and I both slept it which was really nice. When I talk to other parents they are always telling me how their children get up so early and I am so grateful that Ryen loves to sleep in.
We woke up and decided that we would head to Bountiful to our favorite pool. Bountiful is just a suburb right outside of Salt Lake City . The drive usually takes about 30 minutes. Not this day they had the highway closed off at a certain point and it took us almost 2 hours! Needless to say Ryen was ecstatic when we got there because they had opened up the outdoor pool as well and we had a blast.

We had a blast swimming and there wasn't any traffic on the way home so it was a fast drive.

That evening we decided we would go to the movies to see Up. Ryen asked if her dad could go. I took a deep breath and asked myself what would be the right thing to do in this situation. I ended up texting him and he joined us and it was fine. It was really nice to see Ryen so happy and I have to admit this has been the hardest part of this situation. Ryen is a very shy laid back kid so I didn't anticipate her saying much about the split. But I have seen the hurt and confusion in her eyes and it breaks my heart. Hopefully in time her heart will mend and things will be ok.

We both slept like a rock Saturday night and slept in again . Ryen had been invited to a birthday party Sunday at Discovery Gateway for twin girls in her class and we still had not gotten them a present. So we pried ourselves out of bed got ready and went to the store first. After choosing presents and on the road to the Gateway Ryen says to me" Mommy I hope they keep this thing short because I have had a long weekend"! Where do kids come up with these things? WE have been to birthday parties there before but this one was a princess theme and was really cute.

Ryens Dad came and picked her up this evening and showed me how to use the lawnmower. I am going to give it a try after work tomorrow and be prepared for a funny post because I am sure it will be eventful. I am headed into my 2 days without my kiddo and hopefully other then work I will find things to keep me busy
